Trace Route: Determines the path to a destination (if not prohibited by firewalls) and is implemented for fast path determination.

Wake-on-LAN (WoL): Allows you to wake up a device via your network, the internet, or VPN by sending a magic packet to wake it up. Please note that the remote device must be configured to listen to these kinds of packets to be able to wake up.

To make WoL work, you need to configure the LAN Broadcast IP address. This address is used to prevent problems with ARP caches timing out and thus impossible packet delivery within the target network. For example, if your host IP is 192.168.1.42 with a mask of 255.255.255.0, you would use 192.168.42.255 as the WoL broadcast IP.

The Wake on LAN feature has been successfully tested with devices such as Airport Express, Airport Extreme, TimeCapsule, Cisco routers, Draytek routers, AVM routers, and many more in bridged, routed LANs and over the Internet through IPSEC VPN connections.
